"STORYTELLER"

One of my most treasured memories of hunting camp, is the evenings spent setting around the campfire telling stories. Being transported to all the unlimited settings and situations by simple yet skillful oration. The friendships and comradery that develops out of times like these, are often more valued than the hunt itself. "STORYTELLER" captures this timeless ritual of relating one's personal experiences to others.

Yes, I did almost name this painting:"Shooting the Bull", but the current title better fits my father, who is the main subject here. The year I painted this, he got the bull pictured with his long-bow (at 78 years old). I was fortunate enough to be the one calling, and had a front row seat (set-up 30 yards behind him).
