"MID MORNING"

Inventory: 14 Prints

The memories most people have of elk are what they saw of hoofs and tails as they were running away, or a quick glimpse of a "spooked" herd as it came running past them. Some possibly even viewed a bunch as they fed into an opening before dark. But this is how I enjoy seeing a big bull: Sneaking into a bedding area around 10 - 10:30 in the morning, and watching him when he is most relaxed. Even though he may answer an occasional bugle, he has nothing more in mind than resting, storing up his energy for the rut, when all his responsibilities won't allow for such peaceful moments.
