I'm seeking a new place in North Dallas, Richardson or Plano to hold my Summer Camps. My goal is to find a lower cost facility to keep cost down and help families. The closest thing to our camps is SMU at $600+/week & we offer more. Currently looking at two possible sites. Will post location here when details are worked out! Click 2012 Camp Schedule to see current plan. [Updated weekly but not yet finalized]. New projects and sessions are offered each year - keep checking back for latest details. What KLC offers: Special unique and fun projects designed to teach problem solving skills, and techniques! These popular hands-on projects develop abilities and teach how to apply basic principles. The result of this original program is fun to build kits that develop a positive "Can-do" attitude! Both electrical and mechanical projects are available for all skill levels, beginner to advanced!

Without them only two could battle at a time and never against anyone with the same freq warbot. If you have any of these warbots in any condition and would consider donating or selling them then, please E-mail Jim with details. We need good complete working cars & also other cars for repair parts.
I am available to teach at other locations. If you know of a person, school or posible meeting place tell them about me or e-mail me Jim McMillan, about them. The 'About Us' page of this website has my background and goals information.

Class Descriptions:
| Class name | Ages | Replaced | | (10-17) | Applied Science | | (10-17) | Sci Tech 1 & 2 | | (8-10) | Gadgets & Gizmos |
Creative Skills Class: for ages 8-10 (replaced Gadgets & Gizmos)
This is a hands-on class that is appealing to both boys and girls who like to "make-it-happen". Students learn to follow directions, pay attention to details, use tools and work together. They develop special skills, hone abilities and try new things like soldering and building projects. Come, discover you are capable of doing much more than you think and that learning can be fun and exciting!
Class projects (new each year) demonstrate basic principles and are designed to teach creative skills and problem-solving methods. All students must learn how to focus, pay attention and follow instructions in order to develop these abilities. I recommend taking this (or any class I teach) at least twice to increase your confidence and understanding of how it applies in all learning situations.

How Things Work: for ages 12-18 (replaced Applied Science)
For young would-be inventors This class will give hands-on experience using original methods that I've developed over the last 50 years. These are the skills that made me a successful Product Design & Research Engineer - I want to pass them on to you. These principles (my methods) can be applied to all areas of your life not just the technical things.
To develop, create, design or invent you must have a fundamental understanding of how and why things work. Without this knowledge you can only modify what others have done. The class will take apart all kinds of existing products to see how they work. We will then either fix/modify them or use the parts to make something else. This is an exciting class designed to demonstrate principles and learn skills needed to create new products that solve or meet specific needs. Most classes teach math, scientific rules and formulas. This class will teach the application skills and knowledge needed to actually get the job done. I recommend taking this class more than once because it takes time and repetition to understand the basic concepts. Usually the first year most of what I teach goes over the students heads, which is OK, they're learning a new language. To motivate and keep things interesting the projects will be new each year. Come and join the fun! This might be my last year to teach at the undergraduate level! If Age 11 and a serious student you may ask the instructor for permission to take this class.

Technical Science: for ages 11-17 (replaced Applied Science)
This class teaches divergent and logical problem solving abilities that will help you in all aspects of life, especially technical stuff. gain a working knowledge from basic electronics to computers, both electrical and mechanical systems by building special projects that you keep. The projects are fun, exciting and designed to develop creative skills and hone abilities.Past projects include a Lie Detector, FM Transmitter, Super Snooper, 'Gotcha' Circuit, Mom Alarm and the "Apple Breather" ckt. We do new projects each year but repetition of basic technical skills is a key to building confidence and ultimately the ability to initiate for oneself. Students should take this class twice to gain a better understanding of the material, you must use your skills to improve them, this is true in everything you do. Talented/gifted students, may select higher level projects. These classes are unique and special and can change your life - all you need is a willingness to learn (It's your job!). Past students have received college credits (after testing) and been accepted at MIT and other prestigious schools. I have invented and designed things all my life and want to pass these skills on to you, the next generation. Please visit the web-site www.kinetic-learning-center.com for other information and the Summer Camp schedule (might be at UTD this year). Age 10 would need my permission to attend this class. This could be my last year teaching at the undergraduate level! Class & Camp Helpers are usually selected from the best students in this class. See Helper Qualifications on the website if interested. We look forward to mentoring our next A&M or MIT graduate.
