Civil War "The Fighting 69th Irish Brigade"

An American Civil War collectible, "The Fighting 69th Irish Brigrade" by Mort Kunstler. In preparation for the battle of Fredericksburg, the Northern forces had camped on the north side of the Rappahanock River. A large part of this army was made up of 5 Irish Brigades, with the 69th being featured in the picture. The excellent print is highlighted by skillful mat cutting that draws attention to the US brass like those which would be worn on a Union officers hat. The oak framed picture, with glass, measures 15 1/2 by 12 1/2. It is matted using three mat colors and has a 1/8 inch cut-out line that highlights everything in the picture. The official United States postage stamp features Major General Winfield Hancock, a Union commander at the battle of Fredericksburg.
