Mickey with Balloons

DID YOU KNOW? Mickey Mouse is perhaps the most universally known and loved cartoon character known the world over. Mickey has become an international celebrity. How did the name Mickey get chosen? Walt Disney and his wife were traveling by train from New York to California. It was while taking this trip that Walt Disney first began doodling on paper a character sketch of the mouse he had adopted as a pet while working as a commercial artist in Kansas City. Those doodles become the basis for Mickey Mouse. Disney wanted to name his mouse ""Mortimor." But before the train trip ended, Disney's wife convinced him to name the mouse "Mickey." He reluctantly agreed. With balloons in hand, this Mickey is ready to party. This 19 x 15 inch picture is decorated with 3 brightly colored mats. The black wooden frame compliments the picture. The envelope is a commemorative cover celebrating the 65th anniversay of the first full length animated cartoon film, "Steamboat Willie", featuring Mickey Mouse (November 18, 1928). The envelope is postmarked November 18, 1993, and features the official 6 cent Walt Disney postage stamp and the 29 cent steamboat greeting stamp. A short description about how Mickey got his name is found on the envelope. Complete with dust cover and hanger. A MUST FOR A MICKEY COLLECTOR!
