Pasquale R. Galati, affectionately called Pat, was born in Peekskill, New York on October 28, 1927, to Rosario R. and Filomena Esposito Galati.Pat enlisted in the United States Navy on August 28, 1945. He was discharged on August 22, 1946, after serving with dignity and honor.
After moving to Southern California, and working for a brief time, he purchased a Union 76 service station and began his career as a businessman. Pat Galati's Union 76, in Studio City, California, flourished because of his hard work, his fair treatment of his customers, and his desire to serve his community.
That desire lead Pat into civic service, where he served two 4-year terms as a commissioner under Mayor Yorti, of Los Angeles, was a past Mayor of Studio City, and a long-time member and Past President of the Optimist Club. Throughout his business career and his civil service, he served his customers and his community honorably and with compassion. His many customers at the station became his friends.
Pat entered into eternal life on July 12, 2002, in Tarzana, California, after a brave fight with illness, surrounded by his loving family. Cherishing his memory are his beloved Eva; his daughters, Jean-Marie, Lisa-Ann (and her husband Peter); and Antoinette; his grandchildren, Scott, Kelly, Tyler, Paige, Piper and Tibor; his sister, Gloria; his brothers, John and Alfred; and his many, many friends and associates.
A private family service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2002 after which Pat will be taken home to Peekskill, New York. A funeral service will be held there, followed by interment in the Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor, New York.
