Butch held several jobs throughout his life, but his most recent was a research assistant, in the field of medical research with University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

He passed away suddenly, leaving a loving family to grieve his death, but also to celebrate his earthly life and to rejoice in his eternal life. He was cremated, at his request, and returned to San Marcos, Texas, where his beloved mother lives.
