CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

CONTROL UNLEASHED

Based on Leslie McDevitt's groundbreaking book "Control Unleashed," this class will teach you how to turn your dog's stress to confidence and distraction to focus. Leslie's 110% positive methods help your dog learn how to relax, focus, and work off-leash reliably in either stressful or over-stimulating situations. This class is very helpful for dogs who are in the Confirmation, Agility or Obedience Ring. It also can help dogs that are uncomfortable or unable to work off lead around other dogs, dogs that are easily distracted and have difficulty concentrating, dogs that are reactive or easily aroused, dogs that are anxious or stressed and shut down, or dogs that become over-aroused and are unable to control their impulses when excited.

RALLY
Rally is a combination of Obedience and Agility. To enter Rally, a dog must know "Sit," "Down," "Stay" and "Loose-Leash Walking." The handler can talk to and encourage the dog. Dog and handler complete a course by moving from station to station, performing each exercise as indicated. Trials are held by the American Kennel Club or the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. A title is awarded for 3 qualifying scores.

NOVICE COMPETITION OBEDIENCE
Dogs must familiar with loose-leash walking, stays, and recalls, all on lead. Emphasis is on heeling with attention. Figure 8, stand for examination, off lead recalls, group stays in sit and down. Ring procedure and techniques. Retrieving a dumbbell will be introduced. Dogs are expected to learn to work confidently and with an understanding of what is expected of them. Play is incorporated throughout.

OPEN/UTILITY COMPETITION OBEDIENCE
Introduction to and polishing of AKC Advanced Obedience tests. Dogs should have a good foundation in working at heel and should have dumbbell retrieve. Goals, as in Novice Competition Obedience, are understanding and confidence in performing the Open and Utility exercises. Play is incorporated throughout all training programs.
